Project Description
Construction of single storey extension with Metsec roof and cladded finish with brick and block cavity walls.
Alterations and refurbishment to existing Library, including provision of Metsec roof.
Construction of soft play children's playground.
The blockwork was constructed using the Celcon thin joint system. This enables blockwork to be constructed to a maximum of 2.4m in one day.
Challenges
A Metsec roof was installed to the existing flat roof extension.
Water integrity of the existing building was maintained throughout by installing a lightweight steel Metsec pitched roof structure over the existing flat roof, which was enclosed in steel cladding.
This system imposed minimal loads on the existing timber framed building.
