Project Description
The construction of a steel framed single story building with cladded roof and brick and block external walls, aluminium entrance doors and windows.
The installation of a sprung floor, floor to ceiling mirrors and ballet bar, heating and cooling air conditioning, electrical installation, decoration and floor coverings.
Challenges
Access to the site was extremely difficult due to the works being to the rear of the school. A temporary hardcore access road was constructed for site vehicular access. This was constructed over a weekend to avoid disruption to the school activities. Temporary footpaths were installed to enable pupils to access classrooms safely without having to walk immediately adjacent to the site.
It was essential that the new facility tied in with the existing structure, and looked like part of the original sports hall. This was achieved through exhaustive research by our management team, into the exact specification of the bricks and materials used in the existing structure.
