The project consisted of the extension and alteration of a dormer bungalow for the use of a family with a disabled son.
This included an extension containing a hydrotherapy pool and plant room, disabled shower room and therapy room and store.
The extension also compromised of a large specialised bathroom adjoining to an existing bedroom with hoist systems running throughout. Alterations to the rest of the property included level thresholds, door frame widening and general decoration.
Restricted access to the build posed a challenge during this project due to being a party wall extension, and access along the adjacent side being very limited. Therefore excellent planning of material deliveries and a well scheduled programme were put in place to ensure all necessary bulky items could be put in place without craning. Selection of plant was also imperative due to the access restrictions, with larger plant unable to gain entry to the site while smaller plant being inadequate for the job.
