Masbrough Resource Centre
Auburn Ainsley & Partners
The existing building was a single storey brick building with traditional parapetted flat roof. Works comprised of alterations and refurbishment to internal layout and mechanical and electrical installations. Formation of external ramp access along with repairs to external envelope..
The existing building had been empty for a number of years and was suffering from a number of problems caused by its neglect.
The brief was to transform the building into a modern drop in centre for Mental Health Services with a tight budget and deadline of 30th March to meet due to clients financial needs.
Due to the nature of refurbishment of old buildings and uncovering problems with the external envelope of the building once the work started keeping on top of the budget was critical to the success of the project!
O&P worked closely with the design team and clients quantity surveyor to keep the account up to date as variations occurred and looked for cost effective solutions to any problems as they arose.
The project was complete on programme and the final account was agreed on practical completion to the satisfaction of all involved with the project.
