The project consisted of the refurbishment and extension of the Clinical Immunology and Allergy Unit at Northern General Hospital. The project was undertaken in 3 phases.
The phasing enabled the department to operate throughout the contract period.
The works included a large amount of structural alterations to open the areas up which were once divided into small rooms.
The contract period for this project spanned the COVID pandemic and resulting lock downs.
O&P Construction Services updated our working practices in line with Government guidance to enable safe completion of the project with the minimum of disruption.
Safe working procedures we successful in ensuring we had no cases of COVID on site during the contract period.
These challenges were dealt with in addition to the normal challenges of converting an old building into a modern clinical environment for our NHS customers.
