Replacement of X-Ray Plain Film Machines at Northern General Hospital, Sheffield

The project consisted of the refurbishment of a corridor and adjacent lobbies on Fifth level C.

The proposed works consisted of:-

  • Decoration
  • Wall Protection and handrail
  • Door replacement and protection
  • Ironmongery upgrade
  • Suspended ceiling tile replacement
  • Replacement of flooring
  • Possible radiator and heating coil removal

Challenges

The works were to individual X-ray rooms, phased across the two main Sheffield Teaching Hospital sites of Northern General and Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

The works had to be co-ordinated and installed to suit the specialist X-ray fit out contract that followed immediately on from O&P works.

Due to essential services these X-ray rooms provide, down time had to be kept to a minimum leading to a fast-track program for each phase.
