Remodelling of the Anaesthetics Offices & Outpatients Department.
The work involved demolishing all the existing walls and constructing new walls to form offices.
The project also included new mechanical, ventilation and electrical installations and complete redecoration and floor coverings.
Due to the logistics of the site, the site cabins and skips had to be located on the opposite side of an extremely busy hospital road.
The site was located on the first floor of the Outpatients building.
Access was achieved by constructing a temporary bridge across ‘B’ road connected to a window opening on the first floor.
The window was removed and walling removed down to first level.
A tower scaffold with an internal staircase was erected as the opposite side of ‘B’ road.
This enabled access for delivery of materials, removal of site waste and access for construction personnel via the staircase and bridge structure.
A rubbish chute was installed to the tower scaffold which allowed rubble to be transported down into the skips.
With these measures in place, the project was executed successfully with minimum disruption to hospital activities.
