Project Description

The works comprise the formation of a secure vehicle lock with high security fencing set on an existing retaining structure with new gabion basket at the rear, alterations to parking bays and additional parking bay and bin area and landscaping to wooded area behind new fencing.

Challenges

The works were to form a vehicle lock on the existing access road. It was vital to the client that the access road could be reopened each night after construction activities to allow essential deliveries into the hospital.

O&P therefore carried out detailed planning of site compounds and deliveries to ensure the road was clean and safe for delivery vehicles at the end of each day.
Full utilisation of modern plant resources such as 360 degree long reach excavators and Telehandlers was also a key factor in the success of the project allowing the works to be done from the road side of the retaining wall which meant that the protected woodland to the rear of the wall was not disturbed.
